Hank Aaron is
synonymous with home runs, but there was much more to Hammerin'
Hank than his 755 round trippers. He at one time held all-time
marks for most games and at-bats, is still the lifetime leader
in total bases and RBI, and his batting average over 23 seasons
was .305—indications of the all-around ability of this quiet
man from Mobile. The National League MVP in 1957, he appeared in
a record 24 All-Star contests with the Braves (Milwaukee and
Atlanta) and Brewers. |
