George Brett, the
slugging third baseman for the Kansas City Royals, was the
American League batting champion in 3 different decades
(1976,80,90). Brett was also named MVP in 1980 and led the
Royals to a World Series title in 1985. George collected his
3000 hit with a single on Sept. 30, 1992. Brett retired after
the 1993 season with career batting average of .305 scattering
3,154 hits and driving in 1595 runs. He was inducted into the
Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. |
